Joel Theisen

Joel Theisen, RN

Chief Executive Officer & President Homespire

I am CEO & President of Homespire and through the work I’ve done at Lifesprk, a whole person senior care company based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, I’m excited to bring the proprietary model we’ve created to Homespire and spark more lives.

My vision is clear: change the experience for people in the second half of life. My true joy is to see the spark in peoples’ eyes: customers, families, partners, employees, professional referral sources – I want them all to shine on. I may be known as a business innovator, earning numerous accolades, however, my work is not done until we have sparked the lives of millions of people in the second half of life.

Through the years, our team has seen far too many people on the roller coaster of crisis and that is just not acceptable. Our goal is to help people build a pathway to what is most important in their lives so they can live the healthiest, most independent life possible – what we call living a ‘sparked life.’

Matt Hansen, DPT

General Manager

Matt’s spark started on the frontlines where he  saw the gaps that exist in providing care across settings that is seamless to help seniors and their families avoid health crises and navigate other life issues so they can focus energy on their purpose and passion through a whole person senior care approach. His goal is to inspire and empower others to take more responsibility for their own well-being.

He believes that if we are finally going to rescue healthcare in our nation, the social determinants of health must be addressed in peoples’ homes and in the communities where they live. Rather than standing alone as advocates for true population health, Matt is excited to finally align with like-minded visionaries to make a meaningful difference and change the focus from ‘sick care’ to ‘health care.’

Heather-Panek-Homespire

Heather Panek, DNP, MSN/Ed., RN, AHN-BC

Life Care Manager

Heather is a Life Care Manager (LCM) for Homespire with a passion for caring for the elderly population with a holistic approach. She joined Homespire because she believes in the whole person senior care model after witnessing the roller coaster of health care crises with her own clients who were in and out of the hospital.

Heather is changing aging by helping seniors improve their state of wellness – her spark comes from helping client’s discover theirs. Heather believes strongly that if we focus on what sparks people, not their diagnosis, we improve seniors overall health not just short-term but long-term.

When she is not with clients, Heather enjoys spending time with family and friends, vacationing at the beach, cooking, and gardening.

Paul M. Astle, RCP

Community Liaison

Paul has a strong desire to close the gaps in the existing healthcare structure. He has seen what happens when seniors don’t have access to the right care across the healthcare continuum – they slowly begin to enter what Homespire refers to as the ‘roller coaster of health care crisis’ putting their wellbeing at risk. His spark comes from helping people discover whole person options that shift the focus from reactive to proactive care that promotes wellbeing, independence, and sparks lives.

It’s time to rethink the overall delivery of care for our aging population and surround them with a community of people who advocate and anticipate their needs so we can prevent or minimize health crisis. We are excited to be aligning with national thought-leaders who are coming together to change the aging experience towards one that is focused on the whole person to reduce cost long-term (for the individual and the health system), improve outcomes and spark lives.

Robert W. Allen, MBA

Mr. Allen is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Intermountain Healthcare since 2007. A seasoned professional, responsible for optimizing Intermountain’s business and clinical operations, he has broad experience as a leader in for-profit, not-for-profit, established hospitals, new acquisitions, and start-up endeavors. A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Mr. Allen has served on many foundation, chamber, and service boards and as a two-time chairperson of the Wyoming Hospital Association. Currently he serves on the Utah Hospital Association’s, the Utah TeleHealth Network’s, and the People’s Health Clinic boards. The Community Health System twice recognized him with an Outstanding Achievement Award. Mr. Allen completed his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University and a Masters of Business Administration at Utah State University. He previously held positions as CEO at several hospitals in Wyoming, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Utah.

Kimberlee Henrichsen, RN, MSN 

Kimberlee is the Senior Vice President, Clinical Operations and Chief Nursing Executive for Intermountain Healthcare since 1984. She oversees the delivery of clinical services across the Intermountain system to implement strategies aimed at helping people live the healthiest lives possible®, and has served in various nursing and progressive leadership roles throughout her 32 years with Intermountain. Kim participates on several boards, such as the HealthInsight Board, BYU College Volunteer Leadership Council, Weber State University National Advisory Council, and the Westminster College Nursing Leadership Council.  She completed both a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s in adult continuous care at the University of Utah. She is also a graduate of the Wharton Nursing Fellowship Program and Intermountain’s Advanced Training Program.

Todd Neubert, MSN

Todd  is the Intermountain Homecare & Hospice Nurse Administrator, a position that he has held for more than two years. Todd has more than 20 years of nursing experience, all with Intermountain Healthcare, including ten years as the LDS Hospital Nurse Administrator. Todd obtained a Master’s degree in Nursing from Walden University (2007) and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Brigham Young University (1995).

Tom Schmitt

Tom Schmitt is President of Lifesprk. His spark comes from being a champion for changing health care business models to better reward and recognize improving quality of life and wellbeing – the foundations for person-centric care.

From the moment Tom learned about Lifesprk, he’s been intrigued with the purpose, passion, and most importantly the vision and he firmly believes that enhancing life experience should be an integral part of the health quality outcomes for which we strive. When you focus on sparking lives – you achieve significant improvement in Triple Aim outcomes.
